Bike Ride 015, May 30

17.85mi, 63min (17 avg. mph)

I was actually averaging 17.4 mph for most of the ride. I slowed down as I got into the city.

I was at Lindie's house when it started to rain, so she drove me home.

Bike Ride 014
11.9mi, 46min (15.5 avg. mph)

Some offroading near Rt2. There's just a small path there that leads back to a lot of wrecked cars.

Bike Ride 012

May 18
16mi, 57min (16.8 avg. mph)

I rode this morning, starting at 7:15am, and totally pwned with the avg. speed! I was feeling really strong and could pedal hard in top gear (cruising 18-20 mph). I even took some small hills at 20 mph, crested them, and kept up the speed over the downhill and flats.

No wind today. :)

Bike Ride 011

May 15
23mi, 135min (10.2 avg. mph)

Luke and I really hulked it, this weekend. 45 miles in 48 hours!

Bike Ride 010

May 14
22mi, 150min (8.8 avg. mph)

Luke and I got lost in Concord. Saw lots of impressive real estate and cut through some backyards.

Bike Ride 009

May 13
16.2mi, 63min (15.4 avg. mph)

Windy again. I was really pushing to break 16mph average. Luke has pointed out how sitting up on a bike with your arms out on the handlebars, basically turns you into the perfect sail. It's how you would sit if you were trying to catch as much wind as possible. Kind of unfortunate, since a mild gust totally kills my momentum. ...even going down hill!

Bike Ride 008

May 12
21.8mi, 90min (14.5 avg. mph)

Another windy day. I avoided Pope Road because it's all torn to hell (being repaved).

Bike Ride 007

May 11
16.2mi, 62min (15.7 avg. mph)

Destination was Scott's house. He wasn't home. This was a hard ride because of the wind. I averaged 17mph, in the first 30 minutes, but got slowed down in the second half.

I got kind of lost. My plan was cross 495 and make the big loop, but I
took a wrong turn and headed south. The cool part is that at the end
of that detour, I saw a sign saying "No Tresspassing, Property of
Compaq Computer Corp." So, of course, I rode in there. It's a
construction area that looks like it has been abandoned. There's a
large area that's covered with little piles of sand (2ft high). It
looks like some kind of alien spawning ground.

I got back on track, crossed 495 and headed back. I thought about
tackling Hill Road, but wasn't up for it. After I turned off 111, I
realized I was cutting my ride a little short. I got back on 111 and
went over to 27 to make the loop a bit bigger.

Easy loop through Sudbury, Stow, and back to Maynard. Luke, sorry you couldn't get in on this one.
